Njeri Maina Claims Super Metro Buses Were Used to Disrupt Gachagua’s Kirinyaga Tour
Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina has accused Super Metro of transporting individuals she described as “goons” allegedly intended to disrupt Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua’s meet-the-people tour in the county on Sunday.
Maina shared video footage showing branded Super Metro buses travelling along a narrow dirt road and warned that the company could face legal consequences if violence occurred during the political meetings.
Her allegations sparked mixed reactions online, with some people calling for a boycott of the transport operator and questioning its reputation. Others pointed out that Super Metro operates as a SACCO comprising individual vehicle owners, meaning particular buses could potentially be hired independently.
The company had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of reporting, while calls grew for authorities to investigate and establish who hired the buses and for what purpose. #Gachagua
