An autopsy conducted today on 48-year-old Catherine Njeru at Embu Level 5 Hospital has established that the mother of three died from severe blunt force trauma to the head and hip regions, injuries consistent with a high-impact fall or a motor vehicle incident.

The post-mortem findings come as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) probe the fatal incident along the Piai-Itangi Murram Road in Mwea, Kirinyaga County.

Catherine's husband, Anthony Muturi, alleged that police officers pushed the couple from a moving Land Cruiser after a dispute over a KSh 1,000 bribe demand.

Clarifying the circumstances leading up to the tragedy, Muturi stated that the two had not been under arrest at the time. Instead, they had merely requested assistance and a lift in the police car, only for the encounter to take a fatal turn along the journey.

According to Muturi, what began as a routine request for help quickly deteriorated when the officers demanded money, culminating in the horrific incident that claimed his wife's life. #Embu
