Gachagua Says He Is Opposition’s Best Bet to Defeat Ruto in First Round
Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has declared himself the strongest opposition candidate to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 presidential election.
Gachagua said his leadership experience, political credentials and support among voters give him the best chance of securing a first-round victory against Ruto.
“I am the best shot of guaranteeing a first-round win against William Ruto. I have the best leadership quality, experience, and the majority of voters are behind me,” Gachagua said.
His remarks come as opposition leaders continue consultations and efforts to build a united front ahead of the 2027 General Election. Gachagua has previously indicated that he would support another opposition candidate if the wider coalition ultimately settles on someone else to challenge Ruto. #WilliamRuto #Gachagua #Elections2027
