Instagram has introduced an AI-powered Pixel effect for Stories that can obscure selected people in photos, giving users a new way to “soft launch” relationships 👀❤️
Powered by Meta’s Muse Image technology, the effect lets users describe who or what they want pixelated using a text prompt, rather than manually covering someone with stickers or cropping them out. It is part of Instagram’s expanding collection of AI-powered Story effects.
While Meta did not specifically create Pixel for dating, its ability to keep someone visible while hiding their identity has quickly made it useful for relationship soft launches, though availability may still vary by region and account.
