🚨 Businesses Face Possible Shutdown as Kindiki Orders Alcohol Premises Re-Inspection
Several alcohol businesses could face enforcement action or closure after Deputy President Kithure Kindiki directed regulatory and enforcement agencies to re-inspect alcohol manufacturing premises across the country.
The directive was issued on Tuesday, September 29, after Kindiki met Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and heads of regulatory agencies in Karen, Nairobi.
Kindiki said the exercise will establish whether manufacturers are complying with applicable government standards and regulations.
“I have directed enforcement and regulatory agencies to re-inspect manufacturer premises to ascertain the current state of compliance with all applicable standards and regulations,” Kindiki said.
The move could put non-compliant alcohol manufacturers and businesses under increased scrutiny, with possible enforcement action depending on the findings. #Kindiki
