Trump Calls Canadians Nasty While Calling Putin A Friend
In a recent exchange, President Trump said the United States wants peaceful and positive relations with Russia and declared that Putin is his friend. When a reporter noted that Russia is not a traditional American ally and pointed out Canada’s decades of standing alongside the United States, Trump replied that Canadians are nasty people. Pressed further on whether that means Russians are good people while Canadians are nasty, he answered yes and moved on.
This fits a pattern of Trump repeatedly describing Canada and its leadership as nasty while pursuing warmer ties with Moscow. He has praised personal relations with Putin, defended him on past issues, and recently advanced energy deals involving Russia. At the same time, longstanding North American partnerships face sharp public criticism from the White House.
The contrast has fueled strong reactions among Canadians and observers of U.S. foreign policy, highlighting tensions with a close neighbor alongside outreach to Russia. #Trump #USA #Canada

President Donald Trump is once again taking a tough stance toward Canada, saying negotiations with Ottawa have been difficult and that the United States is not satisfied with the current situation.
Trump said Canada would like to make a deal, but Washington remains unhappy with the terms and approach being offered.
The language is drawing attention because Trump’s negotiating style often sounds less like a traditional diplomatic discussion and more like a high-pressure ultimatum — creating the impression that the other side has very little time to respond.
For Canada, the message is clear: reaching an agreement with the Trump administration may require major concessions, patience and careful negotiation.
The latest comments are likely to keep pressure on Canadian leaders as both countries navigate trade, tariffs and their broader economic relationship.
🇺🇸 Trump is signaling that he wants results — and he wants them on his terms. #Trump #USA #Canada

Canada is putting billions into a Canadian-controlled satellite system designed to give the military secure communications across the Arctic.

The federal Defence Investment Agency has awarded Ottawa-based Telesat an initial $2.3-billion contract for its Lightspeed low-Earth-orbit network, with additional options that could bring the deal to roughly $2.7 billion.

The system will provide secure military Ka-band communications across Canada's North and other high-latitude regions, where reliable connectivity has long been a challenge for the Canadian Armed Forces.

The contract will also expand Lightspeed from 156 satellites to 225, adding 69 spacecraft to the planned constellation.

Those satellites will be built by MDA Space at its Montreal-area manufacturing facility, with Ottawa estimating the broader project could support or maintain about 2,600 jobs annually over several years.

Service is expected to begin in 2028.

For Canada, the larger goal is sovereign military communications that are secure, resilient and controlled through Canadian companies and infrastructure.

President Donald Trump has launched another sharp attack on Canada, accusing the country of being one of the most difficult nations for the United States to deal with.

Trump said that while Washington can get along with countries such as China, relations with Canada have been particularly challenging. He also criticized what he described as Canada’s sense of entitlement, while emphasizing that Canada is a separate country and “not a state.”

His latest remarks come amid continued tensions between Washington and Ottawa over trade, tariffs and the future of the U.S.-Canada economic relationship.

Trump’s comments are adding fresh pressure to an already tense relationship between the two neighboring countries, with trade disputes and political disagreements continuing to dominate headlines.

He had no phone. No food. And no way to call for help. So he did something almost unbelievable.

In 2010, a man became stranded in the remote wilderness near Wollaston Lake, Saskatchewan, after going out by boat and getting trapped by difficult conditions. He spent several days alone in the cold, with no easy way to signal anyone for help.

Then he noticed the power lines.

He took his axe and chopped down four wooden power poles, deliberately causing an electrical outage affecting the isolated community. His reasoning was simple: SaskPower would have to investigate the sudden failure, and in such a remote area, that investigation could involve a helicopter.

His gamble worked.

A helicopter was sent to locate the source of the outage, and the crew discovered the stranded man near the damaged power line. He was rescued and taken to safety after spending days in the wilderness.

Officials later cautioned that cutting power lines was extremely dangerous because of the risk of electrocution. But the incident remains one of the strangest real-life survival stories: when he had no conventional way to call for help, he created a problem that he knew someone would have to come investigate.

A desperate decision. An incredible gamble. And, ultimately, a rescue. 🥶🇨🇦

Would you have thought of this if you were stranded?

U.S. President Donald Trump is once again criticizing Canada’s immigration policies, claiming the country is allowing “millions and millions” of people to enter “essentially unchecked and unvetted.”

Trump said the situation is creating problems that could become “too big to handle” and linked immigration to Canada’s unemployment numbers.

🇨🇦 But there’s another side to the numbers: The Canadian Press reports Canada has reduced its immigration intake over the past two years, while Trump provided no evidence for his claims about people entering the country unchecked or unvetted.

The comments come amid ongoing tensions between Ottawa and Washington.
