Zimbabwe has secured funding to modernize the key Chirundu border post with Zambia, crucial for connecting the central African Copperbelt to southern African ports.

Major construction at Chirundu will start in October under a public-private partnership, aiming to finish in about 18 months.

Originally commissioned as a one-stop border post in 2009, Chirundu handles essential goods like copper, cobalt, and agricultural products between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The upgrade will bring new infrastructure and advanced technology to speed up cargo processing, lower congestion, and reduce delays for freight operators. #Zambia #Zimbabwe
