The Tooro Kingdom in Uganda has named Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as the new monarch following the death of King Oyo Nyimba.
Kijanangoma, a news anchor and editor at state broadcaster UBC, was selected by the Babiito royal clan’s succession committee.
However, the late king’s sister, Princess Ruth Komuntale, and their mother, Best Kemigisa, have rejected the decision, saying King Oyo left a will naming his son as the rightful heir to the throne. #Uganda
