🇺🇸 US Court Blocks $100,000 H-1B Visa Fee
A second US federal judge has blocked the $100,000 (about Ksh13 million) fee imposed on new H-1B visa petitions filed by American employers seeking to hire foreign professionals in specialised fields.
The ruling could provide relief for Kenyans and other foreign professionals seeking employment opportunities in the United States through the H-1B programme, amid concerns that the high fee could discourage employers from sponsoring international workers.
According to Reuters, the court found that US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the State Department had not followed the required rule-making procedures before introducing the fee.
⚖️ The ruling adds another legal challenge to the controversial H-1B fee as the US immigration policy remains subject to ongoing court proceedings. #USA
