Kenya, Austria Deepen Bilateral Cooperation in Trade, Energy and Healthcare
Kenya and Austria are strengthening bilateral ties through expanded cooperation in overseas employment, renewable energy, agriculture and technology.
Kenya has welcomed Austria’s recruitment of 100 Kenyan nurses, with plans to increase the number by introducing foreign-language training at Kenya Medical Training College centres to better prepare healthcare professionals for opportunities in Austria.
At State House Nairobi, President William Ruto also bid farewell to Austrian Ambassador to Kenya Dr. Christian Fellner, who has completed his tour of duty after serving in Kenya since August 2018.
The engagement underscores the growing focus on expanding labour mobility, investment, technology transfer and clean-energy cooperation between the two countries.
Kenya expressed appreciation for Ambassador Fellner’s contribution to strengthening relations between Nairobi and Vienna during his eight-year tenure.
