More than 2,000 U.S. Marines are currently heading to the Middle East as part of U.S. military buildup for potential resumption of military operations against Iran.

These 2,000 Marines are embarking on a new mission which is expected to take them seven months.

According to Al Jazeera Arabic, citing sources close to U.S. officials, the USS Theodore Roosevelt and two accompanying warships have reportedly departed San Diego for the Middle East, carrying the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).

The deployment reportedly includes approximately 2,200 Marines and an additional 2,000 sailors across three amphibious ships.

An unnamed U.S. defense official was also quoted as saying that Washington expects to have three aircraft carriers and two amphibious groups positioned around Iran by November.

According to the report, the deployment is aimed to support efforts to enforce a naval blockade and protect commercial shipping routes, including the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

What’s your view on this? Do you think the U.S. military buildup suggests that Washington may be preparing for a possible resumption of military operations against Iran?

How long do you think Iran could withstand the pressure from the United States, given that Iranian officials have ruled out any possibility of surrendering to Washington? #USA
