Ecuador Intelligence Chief Reportedly Among Victims of Kenya Helicopter Crash
Ecuadorian sources have reported that Michele Sensi-Contugi, Ecuador's Director of Intelligence, and his wife were among those killed in a helicopter crash in Kenya. Sensi-Contugi previously served as Interior Minister from April to August 2024 before becoming Director of the National Intelligence Center (CNI). He was reportedly a close confidant and financial supporter of President Daniel Noboa.
Other reported victims include Roger Duarte, a Miami entrepreneur associated with George Stone Crab and My Ceviche, and José Alberto Suárez, president and general manager of Telemundo television stations in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers-Naples.
The reports have also drawn attention to Kenya's popularity as a private safari destination for wealthy and prominent international visitors. Authorities are expected to formally confirm the identities of all victims. May they rest in peace. #Kenya
