Devki Group launched a Sh70 billion cement and clinker plant in Kitui County yesterday.
Here are a few things to note about the plant:
– Expected annual clinker production: 3 million tonnes
– Expected annual cement production: 1.2 million tonnes
– Expected permanent jobs: 3,000
– Power generation capacity: 50 MW
– Uses locally available limestone
– Expected to serve regional markets, including Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania
