Burkina Faso has rolled out Faso Sign, a national electronic signature platform. Officials can now sign government documents in minutes from wherever they are.
The finance ministry says an act that used to sit in a folder for days can be signed on the spot. Printing, transport, and physical storage costs drop. An e-signature has the same legal weight as ink on paper, under a 2009 electronic transactions law.
Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo launched it in Ouagadougou. The digital transition ministry built it; ANSSI holds the keys on national servers. The system logs who signed, when, and from where. Change a comma after signing and the signature breaks. Anyone can check a document online.
It is already tied into mission orders, government mail, and land records. Ministries have been told to adopt it fast. The government’s target is a paperless public administration by 2030. #Burkinafaso
