A newly graduated police constable has reportedly been shot dead by a fellow officer during induction training at the Wikithuki Border Police Unit camp in Tseikuru, Kitui County.
According to preliminary reports, Constable Hussein Yusuf Ali was shot in the chest with a G3 rifle by fellow recruit Constable Raphael Ojiambo, who reportedly fled the camp after the incident.
Police officers from Tseikuru and the Border Police Training School have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who is also accused of fleeing with cartridge evidence.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
