Chaos outside Mombasa County Assembly
A delegation of youth advocates and civil society groups was reportedly attacked outside the Mombasa County Assembly while attempting to deliver a petition calling for the passage of the stalled Mombasa County Youth Policy Bill.
The group had gathered peacefully but was reportedly blocked from entering the assembly to meet the Speaker. The situation later escalated, with individuals carrying sticks allegedly attacking the demonstrators, leaving several human rights defenders injured and triggering panic.
