⚖️ HIGH COURT REJECTS WAMATANGI’S BID TO STOP KSH813.1M ASSET RECOVERY CASE

The High Court has dismissed Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s bid to have an KSh813.1 million asset recovery case filed against him by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) struck out.

Justice Rose Ougo ruled on Thursday, October 1, that Wamatangi had failed to demonstrate that the recovery case was barred by a separate petition challenging EACC’s investigations against him.

Wamatangi had argued that the case should not proceed, saying a separate petition he filed had already resulted in court orders stopping some actions against him.

The High Court has now allowed the KSh813.1 million recovery case to proceed.

Kiambu Governor Opens Kikuyu Level 4 Hospital as Health Investment Draws Mixed Reactions

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has officially opened the Kikuyu Level 4 Hospital, reviving a health project that had stalled under previous administrations. The county says pending contractor payments were settled to facilitate completion of the facility.

The hospital is part of a wider health infrastructure programme that includes six Level 4 facilities and 26 Level 3 hospitals, with the county targeting an additional 1,600 beds to expand access to healthcare and ease pressure on existing facilities.

Supporters have welcomed the opening as evidence of the potential of devolution to bring healthcare services closer to residents. However, critics have questioned whether new facilities will translate into better healthcare if they face challenges such as inadequate staffing, medicine shortages and limited operational capacity.

The debate highlights a broader challenge facing county healthcare: building hospitals is only the first step; ensuring they are fully equipped, staffed, supplied with medicines and consistently operational is equally critical.

The Kikuyu facility therefore marks an important expansion of Kiambu's health infrastructure, but its long-term impact will ultimately depend on the quality and reliability of services delivered to residents. #Kiambu #Wamatangi

I will never buy the MARGINALISATION lie. That's bullshit to cover for incompetent and corrupt leaders..
Let's compare Homa Bay and Kiambu county governments performance in the last four years..
✅ Homa Bay county with a population of around 1.3M has received around ksh.35B in devolved funds in the last four years.
✅ Kiambu county with a population of 2.5M people has received around ksh 50B in devolved funds in the last four years.
In the last four years, Governor Kimani Wamatangi has managed to construct 512 brand new ECDE centres across Kiambu county.
Each ECED has a Play group, a PP1 and PP2 Classroom. Additionally, there's a staffroom, a kitchen, an ablution block and a landscaped playground.
More than 50,000 learners across all the 512 ECDEs in Kiambu county are provided with free learning materials, each learner gets a cup of porridge on a daily basis, four eggs per week and a packet of milk weekly.
Additionally, all the ECDEs have been staffed with teachers whose competence continues to be enhanced through a partnership between Kiambu county government and Mt. Kenya university..
Now, tell me, in terms of Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) in Homa Bay county, has Governor Gladys Wanga delivered even 25% of the above???
Homa Bay county has received close to ksh.100B in devolved funds in the last 14 years. Where's that money? Should we masking incompetence and corruption with this song about marginalisation, 14 years after devolution?? #Kiambu #Wamatangi

Wamatangi Rules Out UDA as 2027 Political Future Takes Shape

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has ruled out seeking re-election on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, while keeping his next political move under wraps until December.

Wamatangi says his immediate focus is on delivering on his administration’s agenda, including completing roads and other pending projects, rather than joining the early 2027 campaign frenzy.

He says the decision to delay his political announcement is deliberate, giving him time to fulfill promises to Kiambu residents before unveiling the political vehicle he will use in the 2027 General Election. #Elections2027 #Kiambu #Wamatangi
