A protest over an unrepaired road on the Narok-Mara highway yesterday left tourists travelling to the Maasai Mara stranded, as safari vehicles and cars formed long queues along the key tourism route.

The disruption has sparked concern within the tourism sector, with hotelier Mohammed Hersi warning that such incidents could undermine Kenya’s efforts to attract more international visitors. #Narok

Ruto Begins Two-Day Development Tour of Narok

President William Ruto is set to visit Narok County on Tuesday for a two-day development tour focused on infrastructure, road construction and economic projects across the county.

The President is expected to launch several major road projects, commission markets constructed under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) and inspect ongoing development projects in different parts of Narok.

Ruto will begin the tour at Olokurto Trading Centre in Narok North Sub-County, where he is scheduled to launch the upgrading of the 48-kilometre Enengetia–Olokurto–Olpusimoru Road to bitumen standards.

The road cuts through one of Narok's key agricultural areas and is expected to improve connectivity between farming communities and markets, reduce transport challenges and create greater opportunities for trade and economic activity in the region. #WilliamRuto #Narok

GACHAGUA to finance the construction of a mausoleum in remembrance of the late MP JOHANA NG’ENO

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised to finance the construction of a mausoleum in memory of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno.

Gachagua made the promise after visiting Ng’eno’s gravesite, where he expressed concern over its condition.

Speaking during the visit, Gachagua instructed designers to come up with a suitable design that would be approved by Ng’eno’s mother before construction begins immediately.

“I will help in the construction of a mausoleum in remembrance of my friend Johanna Ng'eno.

"I have instructed the designers to develop a design that Mama will be comfortable with.

"Work should commence immediately,” Gachagua said.

Ng’eno’s mother also appeared to raise concerns over the family’s treatment following the burial of the former legislator, suggesting that they had been abandoned by the State.

Her remarks came as the condition of Ng’eno’s gravesite attracted attention, with images showing what appeared to be a neglected burial site. #Gachagua #Narok
