JUST IN: Ethiopia has officially closed its embassy in Eritrea and declared all Eritrean diplomats persona non grata, marking a sudden and severe rupture in diplomatic relations between the two Horn of Africa nations. This critical escalation has immediately heightened regional tensions, with observers already warning of potential fallout such as the closure of airspace to commercial and private flights. The dramatic move has triggered widespread reaction online, ranging from political celebrations over the diplomatic freeze to deep anxieties regarding a potential return to conflict in the volatile region. As both nations absorb the immediate shock of the expulsions, regional monitors are closely watching for military movements or formal state responses from Asmara.
